Prey Target Audience Survey- Lucy
Create your own user feedback survey
Here is the survey we have created to research our target audience. This will enable us have good knowledge about our target audience and what they are interested in. Also this will let us collect a wider range of opinions about our title sequence, and will let us know if we need to make any changes to make our sequence more successful by the responses we will receive.

ROUGH CUT 1 - PREY
We still have 2 scenes left to film which will fill in the blank gap. We may also edit the sequence more chronologically.
Evidence of editing
We used the jittery/shaky effect in order to successfully and effectively portray the mysterious and dark mood of the character.

We have found background music which does not have copyright, I have checked this through Creative Commons. This background music will be used behind our voice over in our title sequence and fade out at the end.

Ident analysis
Ident
I created my ident using After Effects, before I used this program I created my logo using an online logo maker. This helped me produce a good logo which will make my ident successful and visually appealing. Using the After Effect program I combined my logo with a design. The reason why I chose this design was that the colours contrasted perfectly and worked together well. The transition of the logo was interesting and will draw the audiences attention.
Task 32 - Distribution
Distribution by Candi AS Set Seven on Scribd
Task 32- Distribution
My film idea/ genre is most likely to be distributed by Universal Pictures as was Girl on the train.
Other films which they have distributed are:
2 | E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial | 1982 |
3 | Jurassic Park | 1993 |
4 | Despicable Me 2 | 2013 |
5 | Furious 7 | 2015 |
These are all highest grossing films. These are all very much non-independent films which they are all in different genres such as animation and action
Task 32 - Distribution
The company that produced and distributed 'The Perfect Guy' (2015) is Screen Gems a Sony Company. This film is also of a similar plot and genre of the title sequence we have in plan to create.
This film company also produced films like
- Don't Breathe (2016)
- Death at a Funeral (2010)
- No good deed (2014)
- Deliver us from evil (2014)

Extension - Individual ideas and Inspirations ( Candice )
I was really intrigued by the camera shots and edits used within this music video. I feel like we could use similar shots, to establish our setting - an estate. The shots, mise en scene and editing used within the music video, created an element of living rough and taking the viewer on a journey of the ordinary lives of the youths living within the estates. As we want to establish the gritty lifestyle, of living within an estate, will we take in consideration the shots used that reflect this idea.
Also the number of two shots used between the characters established a relationship, in which our storyline is about a forbidden love between two youths.

Blogging Health Check 1 - feedback and targets
I feel that my progress is going well. I also feel that my targets are accurate in exactly what I need to do to improve. My work needs to be in much more detail and I also need to expand my use of ICT to present my work. I have already started to add in explanations and will continue to do so.

Overiew of our Resarch into our Audience
After our research, we established that a younger audience prefer a more 'scary' film as they've chosen 'Thriller' and 'Horror' as their favourite genre. Whilst the older age group preferred genres like 'Comedy' and 'Romance'. From this we also gathered which films were their favourite. This could aid us in choosing our 'mis en scene'. It also suggests our target audience is a younger age group.

Individual Evaluation - 6 minute challenge
6minute Challenge
How easy was it to come up with an idea?
Location and props are what we first discussed when trying to come up with an idea. After we gathered our 'random article' for a title which was ''Paper'd Up'', we all took this and gathered our own individual ideas to come up with an overall idea.
Coming up with the genre was also closely aided through our random article, the look and feel of paper'd up gives a juvenile tone giving us an urban crime drama. As a group, I felt that we came together well in this decision.
How easy was it to decide on a title sequence with your idea?
coming up with a title sequence proved to be the most challenging aspect of this task for our group. We took our focused genre and aimed to work around this. Urban crime drama, we all had an image in our heads which again came together to build the plot. Once we worked and tweaked this the rest of the task was straightforward for us. We had gathered 10 shot types very well.
Shot types:
- Wide shot of school - to establish the scene and setting so that audience would be aware of location to gather
- the tone and possible genre of 'film'. Also when young boy checks his timetable.
- Over the shoulder shot- to show the checking of the time
- table to put the audience into his shoes and start to feel a relationship with the main character.
- Long shot- boy walking out of school.
- Extreme closeup- boy putting earphones in ear, song which is related to title is played
- Long shot - boy walking into an estate.
- Closeup- boys phone rings.
- Midshot- boy meets the person who he had previously arranged to deliver drugs to.
- Medium Closeup- transition into him hiding money at the location. (post office)
How successful was our idea?
Overall our idea was very successful, as a group, we worked very well with our individual ideas and thoughts. We even considered using this idea for our final title sequence. This is based on the massive enthusiasm towards this idea and task. It would be interesting to see this change possibly happen.
6 Minute challenge- Individual reflection on ideas
6 Minute Challenge- Individual reflection on ideas.
Evaluation of the process
The first thing we had to do was pick randomly a prop and location, our prop was a timetable and our location was a small post office in a tiny village. Then we used Wikipedia and clicked on random article to produce the name of our Title for the film. The first name which appeared was Paper'd Up which linked to our prop and location perfectly. So we decided to choose that one. We then created an overview of what we wanted and combined all our ideas into one. After we created a shot type list and then finally a storyboard of our ideas.
It was quite easy coming up with an idea as the prop, location and title surprisingly let us create individual ideas which would be successful. It was easier coming up with ideas as a group instead of individually as we all had in input into what we wanted the film to be like.
Also it was easy to decide on the film opening as our we used our knowledge on other Crime genres of films that have been created to help us with a good opening idea.
In my personal opinion I think that the idea we created was very successful. The reasons for this are we came up with an idea which was inspired by other Crime films but we made it our own. Also we fully adapted the Timetable and the Post office in our ideas which successfully worked yet we made it urban and modern.
I would use this 6 minute challenge in our coursework film as it would be enjoyable to film and would be successful as we could use the best mise-en-scene and camera shots as we have fully created it as a group.
